First Principles Leadership Development

Presented by: Matt Gjertsen

Leadership ability is often seen as a trait people have instead of a skill they can learn. This is because we are looking at it wrong. We use words like “executive presence” or “charisma” because we haven’t spent enough time breaking down those traits into individual behaviors that we can train.

Using his experience at the revolutionary aerospace company, SpaceX, Matt will use the design philosophy of “first-principles thinking” to describe a better way to develop leaders. Using real world examples, you will get to put these design principles into practice to help improve your organization’s existing development programs, or build new ones that are even better.

About our Presenter

Matt spent five years as the head of Training & Development at SpaceX, is a former Air Force Instructor Pilot, and is now the founder of Better Every Day Studios. He and his team are on a mission to help companies develop better managers through targeted and interactive training workshops.
