Writing Secrets to Make Learning Stick

Presented by:  Kayleen Holt

Have you ever watched a movie with big-name actors and incredible special effects, only to find that the plot made no sense, or the dialogue didn’t sound like any human being actually talks?

Successful movie makers know the power of a great script. The same is true for instructional designers. This interactive session shares evidence-based strategies for writing for instructional design. You’ll learn techniques from neuroscience to make your writing more powerful, engaging, and memorable.

We'll explore these questions:

  • What makes writing effective?
  • What can we do to flatten the forgetting curve?
  • How can we declutter dense or wordy language to make the meaning clear?
  • How can we tap into the brain's reward system to keep learners wanting more ?
