In this session, attendees will discover how UT Southwestern Medical Center, an academic healthcare institution with 13,000 employees, has implemented a fully functioning campus-wide learning academy, and developed and rolled out an ongoing personalized marketing campaign based upon efficient and effective data collection. The Organizational Development and Training (OD&T) team utilizes these resources to address learning and development needs on many levels from individuals, through intact teams and job specialties, to departments and other large organizations within the institution.
Ben Dilla is Assistant Director of Organizational Development at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Ben has over 30 years of experience as a behavioral scientist (internal OD consultant) for the US Air Force, external consultant for PDI Ninth House (now Korn Ferry), and manager of Training & Development teams for several local organizations. He earned his MS & PhD in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from Purdue University. Ben leads a team of four OD consultants engaged in executive coaching, team building, organizational design and change management to support and enhance UTSW’s three-fold mission of education, research, and patient care.
Paul Scott is Manager, Learning & Development at UT Southwestern. He has held leadership positions in the academic, advertising, healthcare and non-profit environments. His classroom and facilitation experience span more than fifteen years, including undergraduate, personal and professional improvement and development courses. In his current role at UT Southwestern Medical Center, he manages the Academy for Career Enrichment (ACE) as well as oversees the orientation, instructor-led and online leadership training initiatives. An avid traveler, Paul has visited nearly fifty countries on five continents. He holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, where he also completed all required coursework for a doctoral degree in the Humanities.
